The honors are part of NSPRA’s annual Publications and Digital Media Awards and came in the categories of Calendar, Newsletter, and Video Series, with an honorable mention in Photography.
“These awards demonstrate our continuing efforts toward transparency, community involvement, and school pride,” said Superintendent Erskine R. Glover. “We make it a priority to keep our families and wider community informed in a variety of ways, and also use these communication channels to celebrate and elevates our students and staff.”
The awards are:

Calendar – Award of Excellence: The district was awarded for the 2025-2026 School Guide & Calendar, a reference booklet that is mailed to every family in the district and is available from each. It includes vital district and school information that can be referenced throughout the year, including contact information, and details about technology, pupil services, Board of Education, wellness and mental health, and more. It also includes a full wall calendar for the school year, filled in with the district schedule and schools events.
The School Guide & Calendar is a joint effort of the Superintendent’s Office and the Office of Community Education. It is printed and mailed through a grant from the Office of Community Education and uses no taxpayer funds.
Piscataway is the only district in New Jersey to recieve an Award of Excellence in the Calendar category.
Newsletter – Award of Excellence: The Superintendent’s Report newsletter is created monthly in 3 formats to reach diverse audiences and ensure inclusion. The newsletter highlights good news, accomplishments, and celebrations throughout the district with photos and informative vignettes. The newsletter is shared as a tradition PDF in print and digital formats; as an e-newsletter through the district’s ParentSquare communication platform; and in text-only format that can be translated on the district website.
The newsletter is created by Public Information Officer Gary Miller under the leadership of Superintendent Erskine R. Glover.

Video Series – Award of Merit: The district’s “Building for the Future” video series was created to highlight renovations and modernization throughout the district that were completed without incurring any bonded debt for the district. It offers a glimpse inside the buildings for staff members and families, as well as community members who don't normally get to see them. The videos focused on technology upgrades for elementary, intermediate, and middle schools; cafeteria and kitchen upgrades throughout the district; and extensive renovations to Piscataway High School.
The videos were created by Public Information Officer Gary Miller under the leadership of Business Administrator David Oliveira.
Piscataway is one of just four school districts in New Jersey to win an award in the Video Series category.
Photography – Honorable Mention: The honored photo showed the Piscataway High School girls wrestling team celebrating as they captured their first dual-meet win in history. Though individual girl wrestlers have had success for Piscataway, this is the first year the team has held full team dual-matches separate from the boys team. The team got its first ever team win on Jan. 16 over St. Thomas Aquinas. The photo shows girls on the sideline cheering as a teammate scored a decisive win.
The photo was taken by Public Information Officer Gary Miller.
Piscataway is one of just four school districts in New Jersey to be honored in the Photo category.
All of this year's Publications and Digital Media Award program winners will be recognized publicly at the NSPRA 2026 National Seminar in New Orleans in July.
