Referral Timeline

Referral Timeline

A referral is a formal written document that will be dated upon receipt by the staff member or administrator who received the referral. An Identification Meeting will be scheduled within 20 days of the date of receipt of the referral.

If there is agreement that an evaluation is warranted, a written plan for the evaluation will be developed at the Identification Meeting. Parent/Guardian consent is required before the evaluation can begin. The district has 90 days from the date of written consent to complete the evaluation, eligibility, and placement process.

Participants include parent/guardian, all CST members, and at least one of the child’s general education teachers. A decision is made as to whether a CST evaluation is warranted.

Evaluation Plan
If a CST evaluation is warranted, an evaluation plan is written, describing the required evaluations.
The 90-day timeline begins once parent/guardian consent is obtained.
