PHS seniors hear vital fire-safety message from dorm fire survivors

Piscataway High School seniors heard a powerful message about fire safety and prevention on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from two survivors of the fatal fire at a Seton Hall University dormitory in 2000.

Thank you to Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons for talking to our students about their tragic experience, in which three students died. The Seton Hall fire led to new laws about safety upgrades to New Jersey college residence halls. Their impactful "After the Fire" presentation included a video and question-and-answer period.

Thank you to Piscataway Township for their support in bringing this vital message to students who will be heading to college next year.
