Board shines colorful spotlight on issues critical to community

Our Board of Education has been using its platform to bring awareness to important causes that touch our students, families, and community!

Over the past several months, Board members have been wearing a different color at each meeting to recognize an important cause.

In April, Board members wore blue for Autism Awareness, promoting understanding, acceptance, and inclusion

In May, they wore green for Mental Health Awareness, reminding everyone of the importance of supporting the emotional and mental well-being of our students, staff, and families.

In June, the Board wore purple for Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, recognizing the many families whose loved ones are affected by these conditions.

In July, they wore yellow for Sarcoma Awareness Month, helping bring attention to a rare form of cancer and the individuals and families impacted by it.

Although each color represents a different cause, the message behind the initiative remains the same: awareness matters.

Sometimes, a simple gesture can start a conversation, show support, and remind someone that they are not alone. The Board’s hope is that this initiative encourages more members of our school community to participate, learn, and help shine a light on causes that deserve to be seen and heard.
