Among Nation’s Best for Music Education

Piscataway Township Schools has been named among the Best Communities for Music Education in America for the ninth year in a row. Piscataway is one of just 1,008 districts across the country to be chosen for the prestigious honor for 2026. The NAMM Foundation (National Association of Music Merchants) has recognized the district for its outstanding commitment to music education. We are one of just 69 districts in New Jersey and five in Middlesex County to be selected. Now in its 27th year, Best Communities for Music Education highlights outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who work together to ensure access to music learning for all students as part of the school curriculum.

Piscataway Township Schools cut the ribbon on a stylish new PHS Media Center on Tuesday, April 21, debuting a modernized multipurpose space that features a traditional library, meeting space in the style of a college student center, and a cutting-edge esports room. The celebration was the culmination of two years of renovation, which the District completed without incurring any bonded debt. The District administration and Board of Education touted the renovations as a modern asset that will benefit students “for the year 2030 and beyond.” Attendees were attracted to the high-tech gaming center, which includes rows of 20 gaming computers, three large display screens, an interactive Promethean smart board, and modern lighting and design. The Media Center also includes two meeting rooms, a variety of comfortable seating options and gathering areas, several TV screens and smart boards, and over 11,000 books.
