Class of 2026 collects academic awards and $14.5 million in college scholarships

Piscataway High School’s Class of 2026 earned $14.5 million in scholarships as well as hundreds of awards and honors as they wrapped up their senior year.
The graduatiing seniors were honored at Senior Awards ceremonies held in the afternoon and evening of June 10.
In the afternoon session, awards were bestowed for Outstanding Achievement in all areas of study as well as athletics, arts, Air Force Junior ROTC, and more. 73 students were awarded the prestigious NJ Seal of Biliteracy. 19 students were National Merit Scholarship Commended Students.
In the evening session, seniors recieved $143,500 in scholarship from a wide range of business, civic organizations, alumni, and other community groups. However, this was just a small portion of the total scholarship money going to the Class of 2026. The PHS Counseling Department tallied more than $5.5 million in scholarships from institutions students will be attending, and another $9 million in offered scholarship money from institutions to which they were accepted.
