The Piscataway Education Foundation reached new heights in fundraising when its Designer Bag Bingo & Tricky Tray topped the $20,000 mark in profits for the first time!
Guests had a fabulous time at the Friday, Feb. 27, event, raising $20,275.82 to support our students and schools. The Foundation awarded more than 150 prizes to more than 325 eager players at Our Lady of Fatima Cafe.
In addition to handbags awarded for 10 Bingo games, the Foundation gave away a $2,300 Guicci GG Emblem Large Tote Bag to the lucky winner of a separate raffle, as well over 130 tricky tray prizes that included gift certificates, merchandise baskets, a cooler with beverages, an outdoor heater, and a big-screen TV. The winner of the night’s 50/50 walked away with $1,625.
Thank you to the 2 dozen tireless volunteers who made the night possible, including members of our Office of Community Education, Piscataway High School seniors, administrators, and Foundation members, family, and friends. And thank you to the more than 100 generous donors – including local businesses and organizations, and national chains – for supplying our wonderful tricky tray prizes that made the night extra special.
All proceeds go to support the Piscataway Education Foundation, an independent non-profit organization committed to supporting our students and schools, and maintaining a positive relationship between Piscataway Township Schools and the larger community. The Foundation sponsors scholarships for graduating seniors, school-based grants, and other events and functions.
The Piscataway Education Foundation recently donated more than $18,000 to eight schools to fund a wide variety of innovative ideas and strategies – from a family literacy program, to gardening, to hallway makeovers, to table tennis – as part of its ongoing mission to support the district and its students.
The Foundation donates scholarships to graduating seniors each year based on academic merit and community service, most recently giving out five $1,000 scholarships to the Class of 2025.
