The Piscataway Board of Education is being assisted by the New Jersey School Boards Association in its search for a new permanent superintendent of schools. The following dates are an expectation of a timeline for the search.

4/25/25 5 p.m.: Deadline for receipt of applications
 
5/23/25: Board reviews applications and selects candidates for interview (no meeting)

6/2-4/25: Board conducts first round interviews – selects candidates for 2nd round interviews

6/16-17: Board conducts second round interviews – selects candidates for 3rd round interviews (if needed)

6/25/25: Board conducts 3rd round interviews – selects finalist(s); begins checking references on the finalist after receiving candidate clearance for reference check by June 27, 2025

7/7/25: Board selects finalist and begins contract negotiations (no meeting)
Committee conducts in-district visit(s)

On or before 8/1/25: Board submits new contract to Executive County Supt. for approval

On or about 9/1/25: Board hires, publicly approves new superintendent and introduces superintendent to staff and community

1/1/26: New superintendent begins work in the district, 60 days after appointment date

Jan./Feb. 2026: Transition Workshop (Expectations & Goal Setting)
