Hello Piscataway Families,

As we move toward opening our schools with a Hybrid Learning Plan on March 1, I want to explain the many factors that impact our decision making process.

Any decision to reopen schools is based on current reported conditions in our township, county, and state, as well as by following information and guidelines from both the CDC and the Middlesex County Health Department. Additionally, we review and evaluate all the data, including the number of positive cases and trends within the state, county, and township, and we evaluate our staffing needs to support students in all areas.

Our schools are ready to reopen. We have the necessary protocols in place. We will continue to monitor all health data to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff for our return to school.

As we continue our Remote Learning Plan for these coming weeks, Meal Distribution continues for all Piscataway students on Mondays and Thursdays at the following locations and times:

Please remember as we move through the winter months, our school counseling services remain open and prepared to help any student who needs mental health services, or just needs to talk. The Haven, Piscataway's mental health program based at PHS, is also available to assist students and families. The Haven can be reached at 732-981-0700, ext. 2250 or via email at Haven@pway.orgAs always, if you are experiencing a true emergency call 911, or if you need immediate mental health assistance call UBHC at (800) 969-5300.

As always, please contact me with any questions you may have as we move through these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Dr Frank Ranelli
