Deidre Ortiz Named Visionary Principal

Deidre Ortiz, principal of Quibbletown Middle School, has been named the 2015 "Visionary Principal of the Year" by the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association.

PHS Student Wins Regional Competition 

   On February 24th, at Two River Theater in Red Bank, Piscataway High School Junior Nicole Jenkins placed FIRST in the New Jersey Regional Competition for Poetry Out Loud, a national poetry recitation contest.  She competed against 23 students representing high schools in the region.  She will represent Piscataway at the NJ State Finals on Friday, March 13th at Princeton University, as one of the top 12 finalists in the state.  This year, over 160 schools competed along with thousands of students in classrooms across the state.  The winner of the state finals will represent New Jersey in Washington D.C. against 49 other state winners for the National Poetry Out Loud Championship in April.”


P'WAY Students Build STEM Robots

Grandview Elementary School students put their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics skills to task at the first Lego STEM Night program. Students constructed moving robots using Legos.

Teacher Pulls his way into a Guinness Book of World Records

Quibbletown Middle School math teacher, Kyle Gurkovich, broke the Guinness World Record for pull-ups in 24-hour period, again.

P'WAY Strong Anti-bullying Event 

Piscataway Township Schools held its first P'WAY Strong event on Sunday, November 16th, at Piscataway High School.  P'WAY Strong is a Board of Education initiative that promotes healthy living and family life. This event centered on anti-bullying and was well attended by school and community members. Participants were able to hear anti-bullying messages while they played games and had fun being together.  Speakers included Board of Education President Mr. Bill Irwin, Superintendent of Schools Ms. Teresa Rafferty, and former NFL player Mr. Lonnie Allgood.
