District Policies

What they are and why we have them…

From determining the name for a new wing at the High School, to defining appropriate disciplinary action, or outlining acceptable fund-raising activities, decisions impacting district activities are based on policies set by the Board of Education.  Policies are established and enforced to assure consistent and fair decision-making by the Board and district personnel.

Rules incorporated into Student Handbooks, including attendance requirements and acceptable computer use, comply with Board policy.

The district policy manual contains policies mandated by the state (such as how the district budget is prepared) along with policies that are established and adopted by the Board of Education that address the unique and specific needs of the district (such as dress codes).  It is available for review at the Board of Education Office and by clicking on the link in the left column of this page.
