Welcome to Piscataway
Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated this year from May 4 – 11. It’s a time to recognize our teachers for their many wonderful contributions to the Piscataway School Community -- contributions both within the classroom and those that extend beyond the classroom walls.
Our teachers go the extra mile for their students and families as they travel the roads from preschool through high school graduation. Ask Piscataway graduates about a favorite teacher. You’ll get a different answer from every student, showing just how many teachers recognize and reach out when a student needs encouragement or support the most.
It is my honor and privilege to be the Superintendent of a district with such a fine and dedicated staff.
So please join me in saying, “Thank you, Teachers! Thank you for all you do for your students.”

May Arts Events
Please join us at one of the many musical and cultural events held in Piscataway Schools in May. Our students worked all year to achieve the next level of accomplishment. Come celebrate the arts throughout the district!

What Our Board Members Are Reading
In September, as part of their leadership development, our Board of Education began a monthly book club. Here is what they have been reading and discussing on Saturdays:
- Mindset by Carol S. Dweck
- The Pedagogy of Confidence by Yvette Jackson
- The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
These readings influence our school district because they focus on personal growth and confidence, high expectations, and above all, inspire all of us -- staff, students and board members -- to make good choices every day.
Based on their outstanding PSAT results, the following students will be invited to be part of the National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP)
The NHRP identifies academically outstanding Hispanic/Latino high school students. Each year, the NHRP honors about 5,000 of the highest-scoring students from over 250,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who take the PSAT/NMSQT.
